Who is this handsome devil? At first I thought it was a Ruddy Duck in winter plumage, but have come to believe that she is, in fact, a female Tufted Duck after scouring the RSPB guide to the birds of Britain and Europe. Did I mention I'm a birder? Isn't that dorky?The King and I spent the afternoon walking through a new (to us) country park up the road from our house called Ryton Pools. It has a great little bird hide and I made him sit for an hour or so until my camera battery died and our hot chocolate ran cold.
