Taking Stock

Look what I found under the bed! Anyone who knows me would agree that I'm not the world's most organized person. I'm also usually late for most appointments and all together forget about some of them. My husband recently bought me a day planner, 'Here,' he said, 'sort yourself out,' as he tossed it on the table. That works out pretty well for me as long as I can remember to actually write in it. Yesterday, I endeavored to become more organized and spent a good deal of the afternoon aspiring to create a workspace for myself in the spare bedroom (that we have yet to unpack since moving here in AUGUST). I really had to go through every nook and cranny to find all things crafty. I had stuff squirreled into the bottoms of drawers and tops of shelves so out of reach and of course, the nether-regions under the bed. Pictured are the things that I'd discovered after completely and totally forgetting all about them. Really, I forgot! Two UFO's, a scarf from that gorgeous biggie colinette and what will be a really great Rowan felted bag, unearthed themselves and glared impatiently at me.

Oh! And look at this pretty yarn I got as a wedding present last year, hand dyed Alaskan Alpaca!! From my sister's Mum-in-Law. I'm still not quite sure what to do with it, I think she intended for it to become a nice baby blanket, but with only four skeins, I think it'd come up a bit short. If anyone has ideas, do let me know!!

Maybe it will be the first contest here at the Queen Bee News. I'm not sure that I even have any readers yet, but that won't stop me from trying. I did, however, have my first comment ever earlier this week. By someone I didn't even know -- thanks!! So that gives me hope that maybe there is someone out there who has some ideas for what to do with this gorgeous yarn that's just not my colors (so no hat's or scarves, but maybe a shawl/poncho). Softies, anyone?
